The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine will enhance the life cycle management system for weapons and military equipment, specifically by adopting practices from the US and Canada in this area.

Deputy Defence Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Klimenkov stated this while commenting on the completion of an international course on weapons life cycle management attended by Ministry of Defence representatives.

During the sessions led by specialists from the Canadian government project PROTECT2, the Ministry’s experts deepened their knowledge in defense planning, program management in the defense sector, defense procurement, and life cycle management of defense capabilities.

“The training was built upon the experience of NATO countries' Armed Forces, including those of the United States, Canada, France, Poland, Bulgaria, and others. This is crucial for the Ministry of Defence, as the knowledge gained will enable our specialists to enhance Ukraine's weapons life cycle management system in line with Alliance standards,” emphasized Dmytro Klimenkov.

Upon concluding the course, specialists from the Ministry of Defense’s Main Directorate for Weapons and Military Equipment Lifecycle Support were awarded course completion certificates. Colonel Serge Ménard, the Defence Attaché at the Embassy of Canada in Ukraine, was present at the certificate presentation.
