Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine discusses bilateral cooperation with Minister of Defense of Luxembourg

The Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine for European Integration, Oleksandr Balanutsa, had a conversation with the Minister of Defense of Luxembourg, Yuriko Backes.

During the conversation, Oleksandr Balanutsa thanked Ms. Backes for Luxembourg's leadership and participation in various capability coalitions, particularly the IT coalition, artillery coalition, and air force coalition.

The total amount of military aid provided by Luxembourg over more than two years has already exceeded 16% of the country's defense budget. Additionally, Luxembourg is participating in the EU mission to train Ukrainian military personnel, and Ukraine expects the continuation of the EUMAM mission in November.

«I am grateful to Luxembourg for its ongoing assistance to Ukraine and its Armed Forces. Your advocacy for Ukraine's support in Europe and worldwide plays a crucial role. On behalf of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, I invite you to Kyiv and plan to visit Luxembourg soon to personally express my gratitude and discuss possible ways to enhance bilateral defense cooperation», said Oleksandr Balanutsa.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Defense of Luxembourg, Yuriko Backes, noted that work is currently underway on signing a bilateral security agreement between the countries and assured Luxembourg's unwavering support.
