The domestic component market is emerging as a key priority for the Brave1 Defence Cluster

During the “BRAVE1 Components” conference, Minister of Defence Denys Shmyhal announced the launch of a special grant program for Ukrainian manufacturers of components for unmanned systems.

According to him, the Ministry of Defence has already codified more than 250 types of UAV components. Among them, the largest share comprises autonomous munition guidance and control solutions, along with components of communications and control systems. Power supply modules, launch and landing systems, structural elements, and other components are also being codified.

“It is critically important to supply Ukraine’s defense industry with components produced by domestic manufacturers. Going forward, developing the components market will be one of the key priorities of the Brave1 Defence Cluster,” emphasized Denys Shmyhal.

He added that, alongside other support tools, the following are also in place:

  • The “Component Library” projecta digital platform where Ukrainian manufacturers of UAVs, ground robotic systems, and electronic warfare (EW) and signals/electronic intelligence (SIGINT/ELINT) equipment can find component manufacturers and establish partnerships with them. The “Component Library” already includes 230 registered users and over 150 listed component items.
  • The “Made for Victory” grant program, aimed at supporting enterprises that manufacture components for weapons and military equipment.
  • A soft loan program to support the scaling of critically important defense-industry enterprises. Ukrainian companies have already received loans totaling UAH 5 billion.

“At the beginning of the invasion, we opened the markets for UAVs, ground robotic platforms, electronic warfare (EW) systems and other innovative weapons in Ukraine. Today, the rapid growth of these markets is generating significant demand for Ukrainian-made components for these technologies. That is why we are launching a new initiative within the Brave1 framework to support component manufacturers. Our strategic goal is to achieve independence in the production of key components. Over time, Ukraine has every opportunity to become a component hub for the civilized world,” said First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.

Denys Shmyhal emphasized that these support tools for manufacturers are expected to deliver results that the enemy will feel on the battlefield.

“Developing Ukraine’s component base is crucial not only for Ukraine, but for the entire free world. I invited foreign companies to invest in Ukraine, establish joint production, and engage in R&D. Advancing Ukraine’s component sector is an investment in our collective security,” the Minister of Defence concluded.
