Denmark to provide Ukraine with 15,000 extended-range artillery rounds

Denmark will provide Ukraine with 15,000 extended-range artillery rounds as early as this month. Partners responded promptly to Ukraine’s request and reallocated part of the funding previously planned for short-range ammunition to extended-range artillery capabilities.
This was announced by Ukraine's Minister of Defence, Mykhailo Fedorov.
Extended-range artillery rounds: a priority for the Defence Forces of Ukraine
Extended-range artillery ammunition is one of the key priorities of the Defence Forces of Ukraine. This was specifically highlighted by the President of Ukraine during the Ramstein-format meeting. It is also one of the requests that the Ministry of Defence regularly receives from service members on the front line.
As the drone kill zone expands, we are adjusting our artillery priorities. We proposed that our partners reallocate part of the resources previously designated for short-range ammunition to extended-range artillery capabilities.
As the battlefield evolves and the drone kill zone expands, these munitions enable artillery units to strike the enemy from greater distances while reducing risks to Ukrainian artillery crews.
Denmark responded promptly to Ukraine’s request
Denmark was among the first countries to respond swiftly to Ukraine’s request.
During a joint audit of support efforts, the possibility was identified to reallocate part of the unused resources previously designated for short-range ammunition to extended-range artillery rounds. As a result, the Defence Forces of Ukraine will receive additional extended-range ammunition, some of which has already arrived in the country.
Following the President’s directive, we are working to ensure that every decision delivers maximum impact by strengthening the protection of our skies, reinforcing the front line, and enhancing our ability to destroy the enemy’s military potential.
The partnership with Denmark is an example of support tailored to real-world battlefield requirements. Ukraine is grateful for decisions that help its service members sustain pressure on the enemy and strike critical targets at long range.
