One of the countries has made an additional €2 million contribution to the Demining Capability Coalition fund for Ukraine.

This decision was announced at the 20th meeting of the Demining Coalition, held in Reykjavik (Iceland).

Participants stressed that Ukraine is gaining unique practical experience in demining during a full-scale war.

According to Colonel Ruslan Berehulia, Head of the Secretariat of the National Mine Action Agency and Head of the Main Directorate of Mine Action, Civil Protection, and Environmental Safety, the following matters related to strengthening the capabilities of Ukrainian demining units were also discussed:

  • the supply of equipment;
  • the implementation of projects within NATO’s Comprehensive Assistance Package (CAP) — a key NATO framework program providing practical non-lethal support to meet urgent defense needs, support long-term capability development, and ensure full interoperability with the Alliance;
  • the expansion of training programs;
  • the improvement of audit, contract verification, and resource management mechanisms.

As of today, the Demining Capability Coalition comprises 23 countries. During the meeting in Reykjavik, bilateral meetings were held with representatives of countries considering joining the Coalition.

The Coalition’s areas of activity include both humanitarian and combat demining, and its primary objective is to attract international support in these areas.

In 2026, the Demining Coalition plans to allocate at least €165 million to supply Ukraine with equipment and machinery.
