Combatant status: The Ministry of Defence has improved the procedure for providing information on participation in combat operations
The Ministry of Defence streamlines the procedure for providing information on service members’ participation in combat operations. From now on, this will be carried out through the Unified State Register of War Veterans (USRWV) and no later than five days from the commencement of the combat order.
These changes are stipulated by Order No. 28 of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, dated January 17, "On the Procedure for Submitting Information to the Unified State Register of War Veterans.” It aims to regulate the fulfillment of legal obligations in this field.
To facilitate this process, appointed personnel will be designated in military units, establishments, and organizations involved in combat operations.
They are required to enter data into the USRWV on military personnel directly engaged in repelling russia's armed aggression within five days from the start of the combat order.
A distinct procedure has been outlined for entering information into the USRWV concerning service members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who are stationed in the structural units of the MoD apparatus, military command bodies, military units, higher military educational institutions, and establishments directly under the MoD's jurisdiction. This concerns those service members who were deployed to military units in combat zones to perform specific missions.
The authorized persons are defined in the Ministry of Defence Order No. 851, dated December 20, 2024, “On the Designation of Authorized Persons to Enter Information into the Electronic Cabinet - Part of the Unified State Register of War Veterans.”
