The draft of the Law "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2024" regarding financial support of the security and defense sector in the amount of UAH 495.3 billion was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Funds are provided for all defense and security agencies of Ukraine.

In particular, UAH 373.7 billion will be directed to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, of which UAH 269.5 billion will go to the financial support of military personnel and one-time monetary assistance in case of death or disability of defenders of Ukraine.

More than UAH 47 billion will be spent on the purchase and modernization of weapons, military equipment and ammunition. UAH 4.7 billion is allocated for logistics. More than UAH 40 billion will be allocated for the construction of fortifications by the Armed Forces and the State Security Service. An additional UAH 8.9 billion will be allocated to finance the activities of the State Special Transport Service.

“Financing the needs of the Defense Forces is now a top priority. Additional funds for weapons, fortifications and salaries for servicemen are a critical component of countering the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. That is why the experts of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine are actively preparing to work in the relevant committees of the Verkhovna Rada to explain and justify each figure of the draft law submitted by the government,” said Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Yuriy Dzhygyr.
