Automation in the Armed Forces of Ukraine continues: SAP system integrated into the Financial Management of the Logistics Forces

The Ministry of Defence, in collaboration with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and the Command of the Logistics Forces (CLF), has implemented an SAP-based financial accounting module for the financial and economic management of the CLF.

The solution enables the management of accounting processes tailored to the specifics of budgetary institutions and the Ministry of Defence’s requirements. Specifically, it provides the following capabilities:

  • Accounting for appropriations and commitments, cash and actual expenditures, and internal settlements (intradepartmental transfer of inventories);
  • Storage of scanned copies of documents;
  • Integration with the ‘Treasury Client – Treasury’ remote service system;
  • Centralized management of directories, including bookkeeping accounts, funds, budget classification codes, subprogram codes, economic classification codes, material expenditure codes using NATO Stock Numbers (NSNs), business partner information with their banking details, and more;
  • End-to-end integration of accounting documents, logistics transactions, and procurement documents;
  • Generation of accounting registers and accounting reports.

The next step will involve deploying the SAP resource management system in the financial services and management departments of Joint Logistics Centers, supply bases, arsenals, and other command structures.
