Anna Gvozdiar appointed Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine
The Government has appointed Anna Gvozdiar Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine.
Her area of responsibility will include Ukraine’s defense industry.
Strengthening the Ministry of Defence team
Anna Gvozdiar’s appointment is part of efforts to strengthen the Ministry of Defence team, develop Ukraine’s defense industry, and provide the front with what it needs more quickly.
Our task is to build a strong Ukrainian defense industry that provides the front with what it needs now and creates a long-term advantage for Ukraine.
Anna Gvozdiar has extensive experience working with the defense industry. She previously served as Deputy Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine, as well as Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine and Adviser to the Minister of Defence of Ukraine.
Meeting the needs of the front and scaling up production
The key priority is meeting the front's needs. Ukrainian warriors must receive the Ukrainian-made weapons they need on time and in sufficient quantities to counter russian threats on the battlefield.
To this end, Ukraine’s defense industry will increase production and gain more opportunities to scale up.
Exports of Ukrainian defense solutions
Another focus for Anna Gvozdiar will be exporting Ukrainian defense solutions produced in excess of the front’s needs.
Exports can become a tool for developing mutually beneficial partnerships with Ukraine’s allies and attracting additional funding for Ukraine’s defense.
The Ministry of Defence will work to establish clear, predictable rules for manufacturers, continue direct dialogue with the defense industry, and create conditions to scale up production.
