AFU units to be reinforced with thermobaric launcher-equipped robots

The Ministry of Defence has codified and authorized the Ukrainian-made KRAMPUS mobile strike system, equipped with reactive thermobaric launchers, for operational use within the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is intended for use in both offensive and defensive operations. This was reported by the MoD’s Main Directorate for Support of the Life Cycle of Weapons and Military Equipment.
The KRAMPUS system is compact in size and weight, and can fit into the bed of a pickup truck, a minibus, or a trailer. Equipped with two silent electric motors and a tracked chassis, it offers high mobility across challenging terrain, including off-road areas, dense forests, sand, swamps, and steep slopes. The system is equipped with EW-resistant control channels and operates in various weather conditions, including cold, heat, snow, and rain. The platform’s battery capacity supports several hours of continuous movement, allowing it to remain on duty at a position for extended periods.
The ground robotic system is equipped with video cameras and a weapon station armed with RPV-16 reactive thermobaric launchers, capable of eliminating enemy personnel and lightly armored vehicles.
Since the onset of the full-scale invasion, the Ministry of Defence has codified and authorized for operational use more than 80 ground robotic systems for deployment within the Defence Forces, the majority of which are Ukrainian-made. The Ministry of Defence codified nearly 10 domestically produced ground robotic systems in 2023, over 50 in 2024, and more than 20 since the start of 2025.
Domestic ground robotic systems perform a range of tasks, including reconnaissance, various methods of mine-laying and demining, logistics, evacuation, patrolling, and more. Ground drones outfitted with weapon stations carry out assault and defensive missions. There are also kamikaze ground robotic system.
