According to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, male individuals aged 17 to 25 will be automatically registered as conscripts

The Cabinet of Ministers in Ukraine has ratified a resolution outlining the process for carrying out a pilot project on the automatic check and verification of information on conscripts, individuals liable for military service, and reservists.

According to the document developed by the Ministry of Defence, men between the ages of 17 and 25, including those abroad, will be automatically registered as conscripts.

“From now on, the process of registering conscripts will be automated. No medical check-up will be required for the boys, and their information will be gathered from existing records. This will result in time savings both for TRSSCs (Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Centers) employees and the boys being registered,” said Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defence for Digitalization.

Additionally, the resolution includes two new ideas concerning military registration.

The first one involves cross-referencing information with the State Migration Service, the Ministry of Justice, and the Administration of the State Border Guard Service to validate data on men aged 16 to 60.

This will update the data on people and help avoid situations where call-up papers are mistakenly sent to deceased people or those who have been sentenced to imprisonment and are in jail. It will also assist in rectifying inaccuracies in personal information such as name, tax ID, and birthdate.

The second innovation is that male individuals between the ages of 16 and 25 applying for a passport will now be included in the Oberih register without needing a medical check-up. The same rule is valid for individuals residing in foreign countries who request a passport from Ukrainian diplomatic missions.

Thirdly, the up-to-dateness of military registration documents for men aged 18-60 who are abroad will be checked through electronic information interaction with the State Migration Service. This action aims to eliminate mistakes and human error while scrutinizing military documents.

The Ministry of Defence, in partnership with the State Migration Service, the Administration of the State Border Guard Service, the Ministry of Reintegration, and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, jointly developed the resolution.
