Continued defence support for Ukraine and Black Sea security: Denys Shmyhal held talks with the Minister of Defence of Bulgaria

Ukraine’s Minister of Defence, Denys Shmyhal, held talks with Bulgaria’s Minister of Defence, Atanas Zapryanov.
The main topics discussed were the continuation of defence support for Ukraine and security in the Black Sea region.
“Our shared goal is safe navigation. Therefore, I proposed that Ukraine take part in the Black Sea demining initiative with the participation of Bulgaria, Turkey, and Romania,” said Denys Shmyhal.
During the discussion, he outlined Ukraine’s priorities in armaments and the areas of the defence industry in which Ukraine seeks to strengthen cooperation with Bulgaria. According to the Minister of Defence of Ukraine, the country is interested in developing joint production, particularly within the framework of the European SAFE fund.
“Our partners acknowledge that reinforcing support for Ukraine will expedite the attainment of a just peace. I expressed gratitude for their condemnation of russian aggression and for their contribution to strengthening our defence capabilities,” concluded Denys Shmyhal.
