For 2024-2025, the Ministry of Defense, in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, has already contracted 1.8 million drones totaling nearly UAH 147 billion
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine continues to improve its supply processes and expands the range of advanced technological solutions to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These steps aim to provide Ukrainian troops with the necessary support for effective mission fulfillment.
In the first 10 months of 2024, the Ministry of Defense, together with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, contracted 1.6 million UAVs of various types, amounting to over UAH 114 billion. Out of this volume, suppliers have already delivered 1.28 million drones worth over UAH 81 billion. Additionally, another 366,940 drones are scheduled for delivery by the end of the year.
The drones delivered cover a wide range of models that perform various battlefield tasks, including deep-strike kamikaze drones, FPV kamikaze drones, reconnaissance copters like the DJI Mavic, reconnaissance planes, and wing drones, as well as strike copters and planes. The diverse functional specifications of these UAVs provide reliable support for combat units, enhancing response times to tactical and strategic challenges.
Furthermore, for 2025, the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Digital Transformation contracted 155,205 UAVs valued at UAH 32.33 billion. These contracts include all major drone types, such as deep-strike and FPV kamikaze drones, reconnaissance planes, and copters, enabling the Ukrainian army to expand its technological capabilities on the frontlines.
In total, for 2024-2025, the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Digital Transformation have contracted UAV supplies worth almost UAH 147 billion. Additionally, other Defense Forces components, such as the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police, the National Guard, and the Security Service of Ukraine, conduct separate contracting in this area. Furthermore, military units and volunteer organizations directly procure UAVs as well.
