Military units were granted the right to mobilize reservists and persons liable for military service who opt to serve voluntarily during mobilization.

The corresponding resolution drafted by the Ministry of Defence was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

Henceforth, persons liable for military service and volunteer reservists have the option to pick a military unit for their service without having to visit Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Centers.

Commanders of military units are directly empowered to:

•⁠ Issue referrals to the military medical commission to determine fitness for military service;
•⁠ ⁠To staff combat units with volunteers willing to serve under conscription during mobilization.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will establish the list of military units whose commanders can enlist volunteers.

“We are leveraging the motivation of Ukrainians to defend our country against russian armed aggression by providing them with the option to enlist in their preferred units. The brigades have obtained the solution they have long sought after - a recruitment procedure that delivers targeted volunteer recruitment. With this Resolution in place, recruitment time is significantly shortened, ensuring that individuals can enlist in their proffered roles and units that suit both their skills and the defense's needs,” commented Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov.

This Government's Resolution amends the Procedure for Conscription for Military Service during Mobilization approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 560 dated 16.05.2024.
