Win at sea, on land, and in the air: Enroll at the Naval Institute

The Naval Institute forges the elite of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and calls on motivated men and women who are committed to serving their country and have chosen the honorable path of becoming naval officers.
The Institute trains military specialists in the following areas of specialization:
- Shipboard Weapons and Navigation Systems
- Maritime Search and Rescue Operations and Emergency Diving Missions
- Shipboard Propulsion and Power Systems
- Coastal Missile and Artillery Systems
- Shipboard Electronic and Communication Systems
- Personnel Psychological Training
Women have equal access to all naval specialties through the standard admission process.
Admission process for the Naval Institute
The Naval Institute accepts Ukrainian citizens aged 17 to 30 who are willing to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, meet the established military service requirements, and have completed secondary education.
Admission to the Naval Institute is based on the results of the National Multi-Subject Test (NMST), entrance exams, medical examination, and psychological evaluation. Applications are accepted until July 1, 2025.
Applicants are also required to pass the following entrance tests:
- Psychological evaluation;
- Assessment of physical fitness;
- Final medical examination conducted by the Military Medical Commission.
Throughout their studies, cadets are provided with accommodation, meals, uniforms, and financial support.
Naval Institute graduates serve in the Naval Forces, Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Maritime Guard of the State Border Guard Service, the National Guard, and other components of the Defence Forces.
Distinctive aspects of education at the Naval Institute
The educational process is conducted using modern equipment and software. Cadets undergo training on the T1 interactive laser shooting simulator, the Dangerous Waters navigation-tactical simulator, the NTPRO-5000 ship handling simulator, the shipboard power plant simulator, and others. Language laboratories are available at the Naval Institute to support foreign language training.

The Institute actively collaborates with leading international maritime training institutions. Cadets have the opportunity to study in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, France, Lithuania, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, and other countries.
The primary criteria for selecting candidates for international programs are academic performance and a high level of proficiency in foreign languages.
