What does the ‘Requires BGMT’ notation in Reserve+ mean: Clarification by the Ministry of Defence
Within the Reserve+ application, certain users have had the ‘MS-999. Requires Basic General Military Training (BGMT)’ notation displayed in their electronic military registration document. The Ministry of Defence explains what this means.
What does the new notation mean?
MS-999 refers to a military specialty (MS) designated for individuals liable for military service who have not undergone military service or training exercises.
This provision is stipulated by Order No. 317 of the Ministry of Defence, pursuant to Article 39 of the Law of Ukraine ‘On Military Duty and Military Service.’
This enables the state to assess the number of individuals liable for military service who, in the event of a call-up during mobilization in a special period, are required to undergo the Basic General Military Training (BGMT) course.
What to do in this case?
No particular action is required. The assignment of this military specialty does not constitute grounds for fines or other restrictions.
Accordingly, these data are intended only to account for the number of persons who must undergo BGMT if called up for military service during mobilization in a special period. No additional action is required from the user.
