Valerii Churkin: The Ministry of Defence is keen on collaborating with the United States in defense innovations

Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Valerii Churkin, emphasized the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence's interest in cooperating with the United States on military innovation development.
He made this statement during a meeting in Kyiv with Major General Keith Phillips, the U.S. Defense Attaché in Ukraine.
Valerii Churkin thanked the U.S. side for their extensive support and aid.
He outlined his scope of duties within the Ministry, which encompass the formulation of military-technical policy, oversight of the weapons lifecycle, and the advancement of defense innovations.
In particular, the Deputy Minister highlighted the Ukrainian Ministry's interest in collaborating with American companies on the development and implementation of innovations in the defense sector, as well as in attracting American investments.
“We are open to cooperation in this sector and believe it will be mutually beneficial,” said Valerii Churkin.
The parties discussed the importance of establishing clear legislative regulations in this area, which would support innovation and attract foreign partners.
During the meeting, the Ukrainian and U.S. delegations agreed on the next steps in their relevant cooperation.
