Valerii Churkin: Since the beginning of the year, over 60 models of Ukrainian-made ammunition have been authorized for operational use

In April, the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine codified and authorized for operational use more than fifteen models of Ukrainian-made ammunition. This was reported by the MoD’s Main Directorate for Support of the Life Cycle of Weapons and Military Equipment.
Since the beginning of the year, the Ministry of Defence has authorized for operational use over 60 models of ammunition for various purposes. The largest group is for unmanned systems. The list of new items also includes artillery and mortar shells, engineering ammunition, and small arms ammunition of various types, including both Soviet-era and NATO calibers.
Domestic weapon manufacturers have also developed training grenade launcher ammunition for under-barrel or automatic grenade launchers of 40 mm caliber. These include two types of grenade launcher rounds – inert and marker. The 40 mm marker grenade is loaded with a colored dye. The inert one is designed without an explosive charge. Training grenade launcher ammunition is used for personnel training and weapon zeroing.
“It is important that domestic weapon manufacturers are successfully mastering the production of new models of ammunition for various purposes. Our task is to ramp up the production of a wide range of armaments and equipment as quickly as possible. Maximum self-sufficiency in weapons and military equipment production means more opportunities to meet the military's needs,” stated Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Valerii Churkin.
