Ukrainian Parliament regulates matters on the dispatch and presence of Armed Forces of Ukraine units abroad

Today, the Verkhovna Rada approved the Presidential Decree on the dispatch of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to other countries.

“The Decree, in particular, provides for sending our military units to Turkey and the United Kingdom to service our naval vessels,” said Minister of Defence of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

He thanked Members of Parliament for their support of this decision.

A total of 321 service members will be dispatched. All units remain under the command of the Ukrainian Navy.

“The adoption of the draft law will help deepen our cooperation with allies and bolster security in the Black Sea and throughout Europe. This will, in turn, enhance the capabilities of the Ukrainian Navy,” emphasized Denys Shmyhal.
