Ukrainian MoD invites Bulgaria to join the Demining Coalition
Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine for European integration Oleksandr Balanutsa held negotiations with Charge d'Affaires of Bulgaria to Ukraine Mr. Nikolay Nenchev. Congratulating his colleague on his new role, the Deputy Minister expressed gratitude for his active stance in favor of Ukraine.
Having served as Bulgaria's Minister of Defense from 2014 to 2017, Nikolay Nenchev is well familiar with and endorses the undertakings of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine. The Ukrainian and Bulgarian sides discussed ways of further cooperation and aid, including training of Ukrainian service members under the EUMAM assistance mission.
“Thank you for your strong stance and unwavering support in standing with Ukraine against russian terrorists. I hope that your service as Charge d'Affaires of Bulgaria to Ukraine will bring benefits to both countries,” said Deputy Minister of Defence Oleksandr Balanutsa.
Besides that, the parties discussed Bulgaria's participation in the Capabilities Coalitions. The Ukrainian side thanks Bulgaria for contributing to the Integrated Air and Missile Defence Coalition and joining the Maritime Capabilities Coalition. Bulgaria has also been invited to join other Coalitions, including the Demining Coalition.
“Bulgaria supports Ukraine's efforts to become part of the EU and NATO, which will greatly boost defense capabilities in the region. Although russia's influence in Bulgaria is notable, we are standing with you in this war,” assured Charge d'Affaires of Bulgaria to Ukraine Nikolay Nenchev.
