Ukrainian military personnel are currently receiving F-16 training in the Netherlands, with Ukraine's Minister of Defence visiting an air base
During his working visit to the Netherlands, Ukraine's Minister of Defence, Rustem Umerov, visited an air base where Ukrainian service members receive training on F-16 fighter jets.
With Lieutenant General André Steur, Commander of the Royal Netherlands Air Force, the Minister toured the resource and technical facilities where Ukrainian engineers and technicians acquire the necessary skills to maintain and repair aircraft.
“General Steur emphasized the importance of high-quality training and continuous aircraft maintenance. Our service members here are gaining hands-on experience in servicing and repairing these aircraft,” said Rustem Umerov.
The Defence Minister also met with Ukrainian service members currently undergoing engineering and technical training. He stated that the personnel demonstrate a high level of motivation and a clear understanding of the strategic importance of their mission.
In addition, Rustem Umerov held discussions with representatives of Dutch defense companies, who showcased their technological developments—including missiles, drones, and radars. Some of these systems are already being developed in collaboration with Ukrainian manufacturers.
“This cooperation will only grow stronger. The Netherlands is a reliable partner of Ukraine, committed to expanding our defense cooperation in all areas,” emphasized Ukraine’s Minister of Defence.
The Minister of Defence of the Netherlands, Ruben Brekelmans, reaffirmed his country's interest in strengthening bilateral partnerships and joint defense projects.
