Ukrainian-made turret module for the M113 armored personnel carrier has been codified by the Ministry of Defence

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has codified and adopted a module turret for American-made M113 armored personnel carriers. Ukrainian companies are also working on increasing firepower and protecting APCs of various modifications against enemy UAV attacks.

The new domestically developed armored turret can be installed on all modifications of the M113 APC. The turret is designed to protect the turret gunner against firearms, large-caliber machine guns, and ammunition shrapnel. The M113 tracked armored personnel carrier is equipped with a 12.7mm M2 (Browning) machine gun. It is mounted on the turret of the M113 and is capable of engaging ground and air targets. Optionally, the M113 can be equipped with the Mk 19 automatic grenade launcher or the M47 Dragon and BGM-71 TOW anti-tank systems.

Currently, nearly 20 foreign-made models of APCs have been approved for use in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These include LAV-TCV, FV432, FV105, M1126 Stryker, FV103 Spartan, М113А3, YPR-765А1, VAB, XA-185 PASI and others. Among the advantages of the foreign-made APCs cited by the troops are their reliability, ease of use, and ease of maintenance.
