Ukrainian delegation's visits to the UAE and Turkey: Focus on return of prisoners of war and military cooperation

Rustem Umerov, the Minister of Defence of Ukraine, participated in working visits to the United Arab Emirates and Turkey as part of a delegation led by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
During the discussions, two crucial topics were addressed: the return of Ukrainian prisoners of war and the strengthening of bilateral defense cooperation.
During the talks in the UAE, the Ukrainian side engaged in discussions on strategies for the release of captured Ukrainian defenders. The Minister of Defence of Ukraine expressed gratitude to the partners for their support and assistance in this crucial process, underscoring the importance of continued international collaboration to secure the release of all those held in russian captivity
During the visit to Turkey, Rustem Umerov held a meeting with Turkish Minister of National Defence Yaşar Güler and the Commander of the Turkish Land Forces General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu.
The primary focus of the discussions was on strengthening bilateral defense cooperation. The parties engaged in discussions regarding pressing security challenges, potential avenues for advancing joint defense initiatives, and the enhancement of the combat capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Turkey is our reliable strategic partner, and we highly appreciate the support it provides to Ukraine. Our joint efforts in the defense sector help strengthen our resilience and effectiveness on the battlefield,” Rustem Umerov emphasized.
