Ukraine’s Minister of Defence Evgeniy Khmara spoke with Türkiye’s Minister of National Defence Yaşar Güler.

The parties discussed next steps in security cooperation between Ukraine and Türkiye.

Türkiye’s support for the Hetman Ivan Vyhovskyi and Hetman Ivan Mazepa corvettes

Evgeniy Khmara thanked Türkiye for supporting the construction of two corvettes for Ukraine (Hetman Ivan Vyhovskyi and Hetman Ivan Mazepa) and for hosting them at Turkish bases.

Black Sea shipping and the Coalition of the Willing

Particular attention was given to steps to secure shipping in the Black Sea. The Minister of Defence of Ukraine thanked Türkiye for its efforts in this area and for its important role in the Coalition of the Willing.

We agreed on closer cooperation between our teams. We will develop a partnership that will strengthen the security of our countries.
