Ukraine to receive €1.3 billion under the ‘Danish model’ in 2025

Україна отримає 1.3 млрд євро за «данською моделлю» у 2025 році

During a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (‘Ramstein’ format) in Brussels, Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umerov discussed the further development of the ‘Danish model’ with Danish Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen.

The negotiations resulted in an agreement on the initial transfer of €428 million, contributed by Denmark, Sweden, Canada, Norway, and Iceland. These funds will soon be directed toward the production of Ukrainian weapons, including artillery capabilities, strike drones, missiles, and anti-tank systems.

In total, defense support for Ukraine under the ‘Danish model’ is expected to reach €1.3 billion in 2025. A portion of the funds will be derived from the profits generated by frozen russian assets.

The ‘Danish model’ is a unique mechanism for providing direct support to Ukraine’s defense industry. It reflects trust in our army, acknowledges the capabilities of our manufacturers’ capabilities, and makes a tangible contribution to strengthening Ukraine’s Defence Forces.

“This is an investment in our victory—in weapons produced in Ukraine, and in the security of all of Europe. I am grateful to Denmark for its leadership, and especially to Minister Poulsen for his steadfast support for Ukraine,” said Rustem Umerov.

The Defence Minister added that new strategic decisions are currently being developed concerning investments by Ukrainian companies in countries participating in the ‘Ramstein’ format, as well as the launch of production facilities by European Defence companies in Ukraine.
