The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and the Brave1 defense innovation cluster continue to integrate automated turrets into the air defense system.

Increasing the number of effective systems in service means more lives saved and safer skies over Ukraine.

Air targets automated turrets shoot down

Brave1 began developing automated turrets back in 2024. Today, these systems have moved beyond the experimental stage and become an integral part of air defense.

They are already in service with the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and are destroying enemy air threats, including jet-powered Banderol munitions and Geran-5 drones.

Automated turrets have already destroyed more than 60 targets as part of the private air defense project.

In the past month alone, these systems also destroyed dozens of enemy unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over Kyiv.

This is the result of systematic work showing that new Ukrainian solutions can effectively counter air threats both at the front and over cities, protecting critical infrastructure.

How private air defense protects companies and energy facilities

The private air defense project is being implemented in accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Resolution No. 1506 dated November 19, 2025.

It allows companies to provide additional protection for their personnel, production facilities, and energy facilities that are regularly targeted by enemy UAVs. It also makes it possible to rapidly scale up air defense capabilities without placing an additional burden on the air defense of the Defence Forces of Ukraine.

The Ministry of Defence previously reported that private air defense groups began conducting combat missions in spring 2026. As of mid-October, nearly 100 companies had joined the private air defense initiative.
