Ukraine launches DOT-Chain Defence – a digital system for rapid delivery of weapons

Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umerov announced the launch of DOT-Chain Defence – an innovative digital platform that accelerates and simplifies the supply of weaponry to the Defence Forces.
DOT-Chain Defence functions as a modern weapons marketplace, allowing rapid ordering and delivery of weapons without unnecessary bureaucracy. The system is designed to efficiently provide the front line with the necessary resources in the shortest possible time.
Ten brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will take part in the pilot launch, for which the Ministry of Defence has allocated one billion hryvnias to the Defence Procurement Agency. These funds will enable brigades to order FPV drones through the IT system of the State Operator For Non-Lethal Acquisition, with other types of UAVs, electronic warfare systems, and robotic platforms to be added soon.
As the Minister of Defence explained, each military unit will be able to select exactly what it needs to accomplish its missions. At the same time, the Defence Procurement Agency will handle financing and delivery without unnecessary bureaucracy. Delivery will now take weeks instead of months.
“DOT-Chain Defence is a transparent, competitive, and fully digitised system. It is built on the same model as the army’s food supply system, which has already proven its effectiveness,” said Rustem Umerov.
How the system works:
- Military units independently select, order, and reserve the necessary equipment, see delivery timelines, leave feedback, and receive quick responses.
- Manufacturers gain a clear mechanism for cooperating with the state and the military, along with direct feedback from the front lines.
- The state sees the real needs of the front, makes decisions based on data, supports the development of the defence industry, and implements innovations.
“We are creating a new model of weapons supply for our defenders – flexible, transparent, and fast. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the development and launch of DOT-Chain Defence,” concluded the Ukrainian Defence Minister.
