Dmytro Klimenkov, Ukraine's Deputy Defense Minister, made this statement at a meeting with Chilean Foreign Minister Alberto van Klaveren.

"Ukraine is devoted to the idea of peace, but we are fighting back the full-scale Russian invasion with weapons in hand. We are grateful to all countries and peoples around the world for their solidarity and support during this difficult struggle. Ukraine expects to increase cooperation with Chile, particularly in the defense industry," noted the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine.

Dmytro Klimenkov met with Chile's Minister of Foreign Affairs during a working visit to the country by a government team led by Ukraine's First Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Economy Yulia Svyridenko.

In addition, the Ukrainian delegation met with the Chairman of the Senate of the Republic of Chile Jose Garcia Ruminot.

"The Ukrainian army bravely defends its country, but even the strongest hearts need a sword to repel russian aggression. That is why Ukraine is interested in the development of military-technical cooperation with foreign partners", Dmytro Klimenkov emphasized during the meeting.

The Ukrainian peace formula proposed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is one of the meeting's primary issues. Representatives of the Ukrainian delegation invited Chile's leaders to the inaugural Peace Summit, which will be held in Switzerland in June.
