Ukraine has suggested to France that the funds from the frozen russian assets be allocated to bolster the Ukrainian defense industry

Ukraine has proposed the creation of joint enterprises with French arms manufacturers, in line with the defense requirements. Several projects have been proposed that could be funded through the interest generated from the frozen assets of the russian federation.
Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Defence, Sergiy Boyev, made this statement during a meeting with Pierre Heilbronn, Special Envoy of the President of France for Ukraine's Relief and Reconstruction.
Sergiy Boyev informed that Ukraine’s critical needs remain air defense and missile defense systems, interceptor missiles for existing systems, heavy armored vehicles, and ammunition.
“Along with investments and production development, Ukraine is also interested in procuring readily available weapons. The needs are still considerable, the front remains dynamic, and as such, we require swift decisions,” the Deputy Minister concluded.
Sergiy Boyev also briefed the Special Envoy of the President of France on russia's current plans. He pointed out that the aggressor's actions reveal russia's determination to persist in the war as it continues to expand its capacities in unit formation, recruiting new personnel, and developing the defense industry.
“The continued support from our partners and their readiness to scale it up are of great importance to us. Ukraine must remain strong on the battlefield, as this is crucial for achieving lasting peace,” said Sergiy Boyev.
