Ukraine has received high-precision weaponry purchased with Lithuanian funds

Through the financial support of the Lithuanian Republic, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have received modern Ukrainian-made long-range weapons, which are already successfully used at the front. 

It is about high-precision weapons of Ukrainian production, the effectiveness of which has been confirmed in combat conditions. 

Funding in the amount of EUR 10 million was provided by the Ministry of National Defense of Lithuanian Republic in December 2024 as part of the first tranche of assistance provided for in the Memorandum of Understanding concerning the establishment of a mechanism to support Ukrainian Defence and Security Forces through contributions to Ukrainian defence industry. 

“Assistance from Lithuania is not only real support for Ukrainian soldiers, but also an investment in the strength, independence and resilience of Ukraine. Such steps allow us to strengthen our own defense capabilities today,” – Minister of Defence of Ukraine Rustem Umerov said. 

“Ukraine’s struggle to defend itself is also a defense of freedom for Europe, and Lithuania’s support will continue for as long as it takes for Ukraine to prevail. Our commitment stands firm, resolute, and unbreakable. Lithuania will remain a steadfast ally, ready to contribute in every possible way until Ukraine achieves victory” – Ms. Dovilė Šakalienė mentioned, the Minister of the National Defence of the Republic of Lithuania.

Currently, the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, in close coordination with Lithuanian partners, is working on the implementation of the next tranche of another EUR 10 million. The funds will be used to further strengthen the long-range capabilities of the Ukrainian army.
