Ukraine broadens cooperation with KNDS, the European defense holding

The Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, held a meeting with the leadership of KNDS (namely, KNDS France and KNDS Deutschland), a major European defense holding, during the Munich Security Conference.
The parties addressed the maintenance of military equipment transferred to Ukraine by partner countries. Special attention was given to the prospect of supplying new models of weapon systems, particularly self-propelled artillery.
The Ukrainian side expressed willingness to localize the repair and production processes for defense products in Ukraine. The potential for joint production of 155 mm ammunition was also discussed.
The Minister of Defence of Ukraine specifically addressed with KNDS Deutschland the plans for enhancing capabilities related to the repair and modernization of air and missile defense systems.
Furthermore, the meeting participants emphasized advancing UAV systems and the integration of artificial intelligence into military technologies.
“This is the future of the defense industry, and we are interested in co-developing these technologies,” Rustem Umerov stated.
Ukraine continues to broaden its partnerships with European and global leaders in the defense industry, aiming to share expertise, establish joint ventures, and strengthen the defense industry.
