Ukraine and Poland deepen military-technical cooperation, focusing on armored vehicles, air defense, drones, and ammunition

Рустем Умєров провів зустріч із віцепрем’єр-міністром, міністром національної оборони Польщі Владиславом Косіняк-Камишем

During a regular meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (Ramstein format), Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umerov met with Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.

During the talks, the parties discussed further deliveries of heavy armored vehicles. Given Poland's significant role in strengthening Ukraine’s armored forces, the discussions explored ways to expand Poland’s participation in the Armored Vehicles and Maneuverability Coalition.

Particular attention was given to logistics and maintenance. Participants strongly emphasized the urgency of repairing and restoring military equipment for its prompt redeployment to the battlefield.

The discussion also covered the potential for implementing joint defense projects in four main areas:

  • heavy armored vehicles
  • air defense systems
  • unmanned aerial vehicles
  • ammunition manufacturing

Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umerov emphasized that Poland is keen on fostering industrial partnerships and recognizes Ukraine's strategic significance for the localization of defense production.

“I count on Mr. Władysław’s support and constructive decisions. Poland has stood with us since the first days of the full-scale invasion, and we are grateful for this support. We must continue moving forward,” the Minister of Defence of Ukraine emphasized.
