Ukraine and Norway have set defense cooperation priorities for 2025

During his working visit to Brussels, Ukraine’s Defence Minister, Rustem Umerov, met with Norway's Minister of Defence, Tore Onshuus Sandvik. The main topic of the talks was identifying areas for Norwegian defense assistance in 2025.
Norway remains one of the leading supporters of Ukraine, with the Norwegian government allocating USD 7 billion in funding for the next year.
The parties dedicated special attention to enhancing cooperation in unmanned systems.
In particular, this includes:
- Procurement of Ukrainian UAVs;
- Financing the production of domestic models;
- Implementing joint projects under the ‘Danish model’ or through other frameworks.
During the meeting, Rustem Umerov presented Ukrainian technological solutions to his Norwegian counterpart that are already being effectively employed on the battlefield. Ukraine has the full potential to expand these solutions jointly with allied countries.
“I am grateful to the Government of Norway for its strategic vision, determination, and steadfast support for our country,” the Minister of Defence of Ukraine emphasized.
