Ukraine and France engage in discussions on key priorities for defense cooperation in 2025

Sergiy Boyev, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine for European Integration, met with a delegation from the French Ministry of Armed Forces' Task Force to Support Ukraine, led by Major General Cédric du Gardin, to discuss future cooperation plans.
Sergiy Boyev expressed gratitude to France for its leadership in the Artillery Coalition, its provision of Caesar artillery systems that have proven highly effective on the battlefield, and its efforts in training and equipping the Ukrainian Armed Forces, particularly one of the brigades.
Furthermore, Sergiy Boyev outlined the priority areas for defense cooperation with France in the upcoming year:
• Forming and equipping new brigades;
• Supplying critical weaponry, including air defense systems and long-range missiles;
• Advancing collaborative projects in the defense sector;
“Ukrainian defense companies will be able to produce up to $25 billion worth of defense-related products next year. We hope that this production will be made possible, in part, through our partnership with France,” said Sergiy Boyev.
The parties also discussed the funding priorities for defense projects in 2025, including the establishment of joint defense enterprises as one of the key priorities.
