Ukraine and Finland enhance defense collaboration and industrial partnership

Ukraine's Minister of Defence, Rustem Umerov, met with Finland's Minister of Defence, Antti Häkkänen, during the Munich Security Conference.
The discussions' primary focus was advancing industrial cooperation between the two nations. The discussion addressed potential avenues for funding Ukraine's defense industry, using the 'Danish model' to attract investments in defense manufacturing.
Rustem Umerov expressed gratitude to Finland for the new military aid package, which includes munitions for air defense systems.
Special attention was given to the importance of Europe’s role in securing a just peace. The ministers stressed the necessity of uniting efforts to enhance defense capabilities, particularly in light of russia's threats.
Ukraine's Minister of Defence highlighted the importance of establishing a group of European countries to shape key regional security policy trends.
“We always share a common understanding of the challenges ahead. We will continue our close cooperation to enhance our collective security and strengthen our defense capabilities,” Rustem Umerov said.
