Ukraine and Estonia discuss regional security situation

A delegation from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, headed by Deputy Minister for European Integration Oleksandr Balanutsa, held a meeting in Kyiv with a delegation from the Ministry of Defense of Estonia led by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defense of Estonia, Kusti Salm.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the situation on the front lines, the level of russia's defense production, and the threats it poses to neighboring countries.

«We are grateful to Estonia for its continued support and the signed cooperation agreement in the field of security. Today, Ukraine is defending not only itself but also all neighbors bordering the terrorist country. I urge you not to stop in your assistance so that the enemy does not come to you as well», – urged Oleksandr Balanutsa.

One of the key topics of discussion was the need to strengthen air defense and find new ways to sanction russia. The parties agreed that it is necessary to develop new options for restricting and blocking the aggressor country.

«Estonia will not change its position – we support Ukraine in its fight for freedom and independence. The signing of the security cooperation agreement and long-term support confirms this. We understand the price the Ukrainian people are paying in this war, and we will stand with them until the end», – assured Kusti Salm, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defense of Estonia.

During the meeting, the results of the recent NATO summit in Washington were discussed, as well as the NATO Security Assistance Training Ukraine (NSATU) program, which is another step forward in strengthening military support for Ukraine and enhancing interoperability with NATO member countries.
