Ukraine and Denmark discussed deepening defense partnership
The Ukrainian delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine for European Integration, Oleksandr Balanutsa, held a working meeting with the delegation of the Ministry of Defence of the Kingdom of Denmark. The partners' delegation was headed by Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Lunau, Head of the Department for Ukraine at the Center for Security and Operations of the Ministry of Defense of Denmark.
«I thank Denmark for supporting Ukrainian initiatives and participating in almost all capability coalitions. We feel your strong support through long-term and strategic assistance to Ukraine. The transfer of F16 aircraft and the financing of the Ukrainian defense industry are decisive actions that strengthen our partnership”, – noted Oleksandr Balanutsa.
One of the main topics of the meeting was the new architecture and functioning of capability coalitions. The Ukrainian delegation briefed the partners on the structure of the working process and the opportunities for coordination in cooperation with the Coalition Support Office of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
«Denmark is one of the most active participants in the Ukraine Defense Contact Group and seeks to help with all available resources. The decision to transfer F16 aircraft to Ukraine confirms this. We will support Ukraine as long as it takes», – noted Head of the Ukraine Department Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Lunau.
Denmark, as one of the Lead Nations of the Air Force Coalition, participates in the Capability Coalitions Leadership Group meetings – this is a new format for coordinating coalition activities to harmonize common issues and monitor progress.
