Ukraine and Canada agreed to jointly produce defense products

Ukraine’s Defence Minister, Denys Shmyhal, and Canada’s Minister of National Defence, David McGuinty, signed the relevant agreement today in Kyiv, in the presence of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. 

The agreement is intended to enhance bilateral defence industry cooperation, develop and expand production facilities in both Ukraine and Canada, and ensure the resilience and continuity of defence product supplies.

“It is important that today’s agreements will not only support the establishment of Ukrainian companies in Canada and foster technology exchange, but also ensure that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are provided with modern weapons and military equipment in the long term,” said Denys Shmyhal.

The signed document will bolster Ukraine’s resilience and capability to withstand the russian threat, emphasized Denys Shmyhal.
