Trembita metal detector can detect mines in harsh conditions, including underwater, delivering valuable advantages

Several models of domestically produced metal detectors have been approved for use in Ukraine’s Security and Defence Forces, demonstrating comparable or even superior performance in certain aspects to their foreign counterparts.

The domestically produced Trembita metal detector has garnered positive feedback from Ukrainian deminers. It detects metal objects and low-conductivity materials in challenging conditions, such as mineralized soils, without loss of sensitivity.

The metal detector is intended for personal use and features an appropriate level of protection. It is hermetically sealed, shock-resistant, and waterproof, making it suitable for underwater demining.

Also among the advantages of the metal detector are:

  • Ergonomic design (quick transition from compact to operational mode).

  • Compact size.

  • Lightweight (weighing no more than 2.4 kg).

  • Easy to use (easy automatic settings adjustment).

  • Operating time of at least 48 hours continuously. This exceeds the performance of foreign comparable models.

  • It can detect anti-personnel or anti-tank mines in the soil and identify the most common russian mines, including TM-62M, PFM-1, F-1, RGD-5, PMN-2, and many others.

“Ukraine is currently the most heavily mined country in the world. Our sappers employ various tools and equipment to detect mines and unexploded ordnance. One of them is the Trembita detector, which not only meets international standards but, in some aspects, even surpasses foreign comparable models. The positive feedback from demining teams confirms this,” emphasized Colonel Ruslan Berehulia, Head of the Main Directorate for Mine Action, Civil Protection, and Environmental Safety.

According to him, another advantage of the Trembita metal detector is the Pinpoint function, which is essential for accurately locating mines or unexploded ordnance that deminers are searching for. This not only simplifies the search but also helps prevent physical impacts on dangerous remnants of war during their excavation.
