Transformation of the defense management is an indicator of our commitment to innovation - Ivan Havryliuk bestowed awards from the Ministry of Defence

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine held an awards ceremony for military service members and civilian employees for their contribution to the implementation of the project called Defence Management Transformation in the Structure of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine. First Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk handed out the awards.

Initiated by the MoD, the project aims to implement a new model for the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, & Execution (PPBE) process for defense programs of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The new model incorporates the best practices of NATO member states.

Among other aspects, this model encompasses long-term planning and precise distribution of costs in key areas following a multi-criteria assessment of defense capabilities. Such approaches will enhance the Defence Forces' organizational efficiency and improve compatibility with NATO member states.

“The joint project we carried out is more than just a technical assignment or a professional challenge. It indicates our commitment to innovation and systematic approach to management in the defense sector. This marks a further advancement in enhancing the effectiveness of administrative procedures and establishing a defense management framework that fulfills current demands," said the First Deputy Defence Minister.

Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk acknowledged the project participants for their professional accomplishment of duties. He also emphasized the significant contribution of the project’s technical director, Michael McCarthy, who was awarded the Cross of Honor medal.
