“Train the Trainer”: Norway launches a new programme for Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence specialists
Specialists from Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence have begun training in Norway on state quality assurance under the “Train the Trainer” programme (“AQAP Awareness Train the Trainer Session”).
Upon completion of the courses, they will return to Ukraine as national trainers in the state quality assurance system to strengthen this area within the defence industry.
The training involves representatives of the Main Directorate of State Quality Assurance and the National Defence University of Ukraine. The programme covers the principles of establishing state quality assurance systems in NATO member states and practical experience in implementing them in accordance with AQAP 2310, AQAP 2110, and AQAP 2131. The training is being delivered by Norwegian and British instructors.
A dedicated module of the programme focuses on implementing modern quality management methods in defence procurement and weapons production.
The training is being conducted at the invitation of the Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency (NDMA) under the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2025 between the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and the Ministry of Defence of the Kingdom of Norway. The Memorandum establishes a strategic partnership between the parties on the mutual assurance of the quality of defence-related products.
