Top 7 specialties most frequently selected at Recruitment Centers of the Ukrainian Army

Vacancies related to UAVs, driving, and marksmanship are in the highest demand among citizens joining the Defence Forces through Ukrainian Army Recruitment Centers. 

As of mid-January 2025, the top 7 categories of specialties are as follows: 

• Specialties related to UAVs: 16%

• Drivers: 16%

• Marksmanship specialties: 15%

• Headquarters roles: 9%;

• Specialties related to artillery: 6%

• Combat medics, medical assistants, nurses, and doctors: 5%

• Specialties related to communications and cybersecurity: 5%

During the last week, 1,282 individuals reached out to Recruitment Centers of the Ukrainian Army. Since the start of the centers' operation, the total number of visitors has reached 35,337, of which 7,800 have already registered as candidates for the Ukrainian Defence Forces. 

“The primary benefit of enlisting in Ukraine's defense through Recruiting Centers is the ability to choose a specialty based on individual's preferences and capabilities. Future defenders will also be entitled to extended benefits and social guarantees. State support also extends to the family members of service members. At Recruiting Centers, trained professionals will provide all the essential information about military service and support candidates through every step of the paperwork process,” said Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Brigadier General of Justice Serhii Melnyk.

Currently, 47 Recruitment Centers of the Ukrainian Army are operating in Ukraine. Residents of Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Lviv, and Zaporizhzhia oblasts (regions), as well as the city of Kyiv, demonstrate the highest level of activity in terms of the number of inquiries.

Recruitment Centers offer more than 10,000 vacancies in various military formations, including the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, and the Security Service of Ukraine. All consultations regarding military service are provided with strict confidentiality.
