The Ministry of Defense will provide recommendations for Ukrainian companies to participate in NATO tenders
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, in collaboration with the Verkhovna Rada, will work on formalizing the process of providing recommendations to Ukrainian uniform manufacturers for participating in NATO tenders. This was discussed at a meeting chaired by Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Brigadier General of Justice Serhii Melnyk.
Specifically, Ukrainian manufacturers may contribute to the production and supply of women’s military uniforms, funded by Alliance countries. This includes over 10,000 sets of uniforms, footwear, and other gear for female service members, amounting to $7 million. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken previously announced the provision of this equipment.
To participate in NATO tenders, Ukrainian manufacturers must register on the NSPA (NATO Support and Procurement Agency) platform, which brings together potential suppliers for the Alliance. Once all organizational matters are agreed upon, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine will be able to provide recommendations to reliable domestic manufacturers, enabling them to take part in NATO tenders. This will allow Ukraine’s Defense Forces to be supplied more quickly and efficiently as part of international assistance.
Additionally, a series of meetings with NATO representatives is planned for November and December of this year, during which the Ukrainian side will discuss ways to expedite the transfer of military uniforms for female service members from partners to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“This cooperation with NATO countries will contribute to attracting additional funds into the Ukrainian economy, which is especially important amid the ongoing large-scale russian invasion,” noted Deputy Defense Minister Serhii Melnyk.
