The Ministry of Defense is initiating the implementation of new psychological recovery programs for service members
Modern psychological support and recovery programs will be introduced for service members engaged in active combat and their families. Assistance will be provided using evidence-based psychological and recovery methods.
Combat stress control specialists will assist with recovery referrals when a military unit is in recovery.
"The range of psychological recovery services will be available to all service members who need it after participating in combat. Psychological recovery will be provided for service members and their families. This is a step towards strengthening quality psychological protection for our defenders," emphasized Valentina Obolentseva, Head of the Department of Psychological Support.
By the end of the year, a pilot project is planned in cooperation with local authorities. This will allow the program to be tested at the local level and prepared for large-scale implementation.
The new standards for psychological support and recovery were initiated by the Ministry of Defense. A working group of representatives from the Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, non-governmental organizations, and foreign partners with relevant experience is working on these programs.
In collaboration with the Security Assistance Group - Ukraine (SAG-U) and involving leading practitioners, regulatory acts are being developed to ensure the implementation of modern psychological and rehabilitation standards.
