The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has expanded the list of manufacturers of winter combat boots for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Main Directorate for the Development and Support of the Material Capabilities of the Armed Forces has verified that the products of another Ukrainian manufacturer meet the standards outlined in the normative and technical documents of the Ministry of Defense.

The decision is aimed at increasing the level of competition at future tenders conducted by the MoD’s Non-lethal Defense Acquisition Agency. Increasing the number of suppliers will help to raise the competitiveness and quality of the products.

«The Ministry of Defense is working on attracting new producers of non-lethal products for the Armed Forces. Given our current financial constraints, it is extremely important to provide our defenders with high-quality goods,» said Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Dmytro Klimenkov.

This step is part of the Ministry's policy to involve domestic manufacturers in the supply of non-lethal goods for the army.

«In cooperation with Ukrainian companies, we strive to ensure a stable supply of high-quality non-lethal goods that meet the needs of the Armed Forces,» added Hlib Kanevskyi, director of the Department of Procurement Policy of the Ministry of Defense. «This will not only contribute to the strengthening of our army, but also support the economic development of Ukraine.»

In 2024, the Non-lethal Defense Acquisition Agency contracted winter combat boots for a total cost of UAH 897.3 million.
