"Varan" buggy for supply to the Armed Forces

The Ministry of Defense has codified and approved the Ukrainian "Varan" buggy for supply to the Armed Forces. This high-mobility vehicle is designed to perform a wide range of tasks, including the transportation of personnel, evacuation of the wounded, ammunition delivery, and more.

The "Varan" buggy was designed and manufactured by a Ukrainian company. Its foundation is a rigid frame built for extremely harsh operating conditions. The buggy is equipped with a powerful turbo-diesel engine and an automatic 5-speed transmission. Most of the components, units, and mechanisms are sourced from leading global car manufacturers.

The "Varan" was designed by an engineer with years of experience in car repair and operation. The military provided the specifications: fast, maneuverable, easy to repair, extremely low profile, and with high off-road capability.

The two-seater buggy weighs just over a ton and can carry 500 kg of cargo or tow a trailer weighing up to 300 kg. The fuel tank has a range of 200 km on rough terrain. On sand, the "Varan" can reach speeds over 100 km/h. During testing, the buggy never rolled over.

We remind manufacturers and developers of military equipment that they can direct additional questions regarding the codification process to the Main Directorate for Armament and Military Equipment Life Cycle Support at the email: [email protected].
