The Ministry of Defence's audit within a military unit facilitated the saving of approximately UAH 40 million in budget funds

An audit in one of the military units conducted by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine revealed that approximately UAH 40 million of budget funds could be saved.

The intention was to deliver a contractor with tolling raw materials already available in the military unit but planned to be re-procured under a state contract. By using available assets, the contract cost decreased, enabling the reallocation of funds to other priority needs.

Colonel Oleksandr Tytkovskyi, Acting Director of the Internal Audit Department of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, emphasized that the uncovered facts do not result in any financial losses for the state. At the same time, by discovering opportunities for savings, the agency can enhance the efficiency of its financial resources.

In addition, according to Oleksandr Tytkovskyi, enhanced focus from the Department's leadership on the effective utilization of financial and material assets has the potential to significantly improve the provision of military units in times of martial law.
