The Ministry of Defence’s Cyber Incident Response Center is now a member of the FIRST Forum

The Cyber Incident Response Center (CIRC) at the Ministry of Defence has become a member of the international Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST), which brings together more than 700 teams worldwide that handle cyber incidents.
Through participation in FIRST, Ukrainian specialists will have the opportunity to:
- Gain access to cutting-edge training;
- Promptly access information on new threats or malicious software and initiate response measures;
- Participate as consultants in the development of incident response teams in other countries.
“The Cyber Incident Response Center has joined a large family comprising hundreds of response teams worldwide. This signifies that our team’s work, experience, and expertise are acknowledged at the international level. “FIRST membership offers opportunities that will substantially bolster our capabilities in the protection of our products against cyber threats,” said Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defence for Digital Development.
Participation in FIRST will also facilitate the development of relationships with key players in the global cybersecurity sector. For example, the next step currently underway at the CIRC involves broadening cooperation with response teams from international companies, such as Cisco, IBM, and Microsoft, among others.
Reference information: The Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST) is an international organization that connects cybersecurity incident response teams globally, such as CERT, CSIRT, SOC, PSIRT, among others.
