The Ministry of Defence is training specialists to implement NATO standards in the defense administration system

Another team of experts from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has strengthened their managerial competencies through a professional development course on collaborative governance.
The courses serve as a platform for preparing change agents—specialists equipped with the necessary competencies to drive reforms and establish an efficient decision-making system within the Ministry of Defence.
The new course cycle saw 20 representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Ukraine undergo training. They gained extensive knowledge of modern management tools.
In particular:
- Benchmarking (assessment of effectiveness and feasibility of adapting international practices);
- Reengineering of management processes;
- Fundamentals of effective communication;
- Planning and time management skills;
- Practical development of proposals for managerial decisions.
The courses were organized and delivered by the Department of Military Policy and Strategic Planning of the Ministry of Defence. The training sessions were supported by lecturers from the National Defence University of Ukraine and the international PROTECT2 project.
Since the commencement of the project, 89 defense sector managers have advanced their skills.
Reference information: Collaborative governance is a contemporary approach to managing processes in decision-making and implementation, rooted in the best practices of the defense ministries of NATO member states. The primary objective of this initiative is to enhance management efficiency, optimize the use of available resources, prevent duplication of tasks and functions, and reduce decision-making risks to a minimum.
