The Ministry of Defence is developing adaptive clothing for wounded service members

Currently, the technical specifications detailing the requirements for adaptive clothing items, to be followed by potential manufacturers during production, are in the final stages of approval.
This was discussed at a meeting of the MoD’s Collegial Body on the Development of Logistics Support.
“The Ministry of Defence is taking steps to introduce adaptive clothing, following requests from service members injured at the front and undergoing medical treatment, as well as from military medics. The objective is to ensure that our service members are as comfortable as possible during their treatment and rehabilitation,” said Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Dmytro Klimenkov.
The proposed adaptive clothing kit includes several items: trousers, shorts, undershirts, and long-sleeve and short-sleeve jaegers.
As of now, two stages of testing have been completed, incorporating feedback from military personnel who have already worn this clothing.
Keyfeatures of these garments:
Widened trouser legs and widened jaeger sleeves;
Textile fasteners (Velcro) that ease the dressing of the wounded and, if needed, can be completely unfastened at the shoulders and sides;
Additional volume adjustment at the bottom of the trouser legs and jaeger sleeves, as well as extra adjustments on the waistband of the trousers and shorts using a drawstring.
Pockets on the shorts and trousers included.
This clothing is essential to enhance the daily comfort of service members with limb injuries and other wounds, addressing their daily necessities and facilitating medical procedures.
